Sight-Sound-Sense
After a day of working in the yard and painting in the heat and humidity, I sat down to make a short film, nothing quite right, and this lo-res version presents itself even less well than the orginal, but this piece allows me a chance to make a poem that takes some small advantage of movement and sound. Visually, this is nothing but a half-random sequencing of pans and zooms upon the twenty-five poems that make up Out of Character.

this, i believe was my first conscious video poem experience.
amazing how the characters, up close and careening seemed almost villainous, then contrasted with what sounded like an arabic lullaby (?) (coulda been native american for all i know).
i'll be back
Geof,
Is Out of Character also a book that got published? I really liked the video, so if nothing else, maybe it worked as a commercial for the book. :-)

endwar,
The book version of Out of Character (well, chapbook) isn't out yet. Once it is, I'll post a note to the blog. And might as well link back to this as well at the same time..
Geof
The video is quick, I agree, but what you discover here is the quality of a part of the characters that becomes a new work by itself. See if you can continue with autonomous sections of selected parts, they can stand on their own cum laude!
